Applying for an Award


There is no requirement for academic qualifications, but applicants will already be well established in their career. Successful candidates will be normally be aged between 24 and 45 and living in the UK

 

The closing date for applications is mid November for the following year’s awards. Short-listing for interview takes place in December and successful candidates will be invited to attend an interview in January in London.


Successful candidates are those whom the selection committee feel will contribute and innovate within their field and in the wider community after their return from study. They will receive a bursary of £6,500 towards travel and expenses plus expenses for the pre study briefing Contemporary Scholars Conference.

In return, the scholars are expected to write a report and make a presentation at the annual Nuffield Farming conference.

Trehane scholars are invited to the annual Trehane dinner which brings together award winners with industry guests. New scholars will be asked to make a short presentation on completing their study.
